Mylene brings 15 years of experience striving to create more equitable spaces in higher education. Currently, she serves as the Director of Diversity Consulting in the Graduate School Diversity Office at the University of Minnesota (U of M). Informed by best practices and assessment, she partners with faculty seeking to elevate their commitment to DEI work. She facilitates climate audits, focus groups, and advises on strategic planning and implementation from a DEI lens. Mylene leads the Graduate School’s Diversity Consultation Team; responsible for the development of the Faculty Fighting Racism platform, a practical tool for increased awareness and change. She is also a trainer for the Office for Equity and Diversity’s Certificate program at the U of M. As a Gallup-certified strengths coach and a qualified Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) administrator, she uses assessment and self-awareness to help individuals acknowledge their values and move in the direction of their intentions.
Mylene holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Virginia, a MEd in Counselor Education from Old Dominion University, and a PhD in Workforce Development from the University of Georgia.
